Somatic Coaching for Filmmakers

Making Change Media has shifted our primary focus from impact producing and film distribution to filmmaker sustainability, supporting the well-being, resilience and effectiveness of the creative teams behind the camera through 1:1 and team embodiment coaching and consulting. We understand the heroic lengths it can take to bring a film into the world within current conditions and the even more epic feat it is to then create deeply impactful campaigns around that film which contribute to the broader conversation and move people to taking action or viewing the world differently. The burnout rate is real among independent filmmakers. Somatics supports the development of embodied skills and deeper awareness to weather the storms of the filmmaking world with more ease, clarity and purpose.
Impact
We believe that powerful, well-crafted films can play an important role in movements for social, economic, and environmental justice. By bringing people together, films build empathy, challenge, inspire, and energize. Our impact campaigns partner with key leaders in the field, connect audiences with opportunities to get involved, and move people to take positive action in their communities.
We work with filmmakers with compelling social issue films to:
- design, implement, and manage impact campaigns to expand the reach and effectiveness of your film;
- nurture partnerships with key organizations, activists, and thought leaders on your behalf;
- produce high-impact, one-off events;
- coordinate regional or national screening tours;
- facilitate focus groups, rough cut screenings, stakeholder meetings, and more;
- develop discussion and activity guides, as well as communications toolkits.
Distribution
A robust educational distribution plan is a key aspect of creating meaningful impact by reaching young people. We offer consulting and coaching to help filmmakers reach educators and students by bringing your film to classrooms and campuses around the world.
